Abstract

The following research aimed to contribute to the strengthening of participation, self-learning and sensory experimentation in the field of artistic expression through the use of Waldorf educational materials in children aged 3 to 4 years. The research was based on constructivist theory, Waldorf pedagogy and the Initial Education Curriculum (2014). Authors such as Rubio (2021), Macarro (2020), González (2018), Pallpay (2016), Tejel (2018) and Carlgren (1989) among others, provided knowledge on the use, importance and benefits of teaching materials. According to this, it is contributing to participation, self-learning and sensory experimentation for artistic expression in early childhood. The methodology based on the socio-critical paradigm was used, with a qualitative approach in which an applied and field-type action research was established. Likewise, a descriptive investigation was established using the information units as study subjects, with this a solution to the educational problem was sought through an intervention plan. Regarding the research process, the pertinent information was collected through the techniques: interview, participant observation and their respective instruments: interview guide, observation guide and field diaries. Based on the diagnosis, the educational intervention proposal called "A world of colors" was designed, which was composed of eight activities developed on the CANVA platform, aimed at working on the skills related to free drawing and graphoplastics according to the Initial Education Curriculum. Subsequently, the proposal was implemented, obtaining as a result that the activities allowed children to participate actively and experientially in artistic expression, using the teaching materials of the natural environment and the environment of Waldorf pedagogy.
