Abstract: | The main objective of this research work is to explore and understand the ancestral knowledge in medicine of the Membrillo community, specifically within the Intercultural Bilingual Educational Unit "Abc", in collaboration with eighth, ninth, and tenth-grade students of general basic education. This study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, conducted within the institution with the collaboration of the local yachak, the midwife, and other wise members of the community. Practices related to the use of medicinal plants in the healing process are documented. To gather information, interviews and field diaries were used, the results of which were subsequently shared with students for their review and analysis in an educational context. Findings revealed the integration of traditional medical treatment with pedagogical approach in the classroom, as well as the feasibility of using medicinal plants as a teaching tool in the Kichwa language, through a structured guide. |
Description: | El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo principal explorar y comprender los conocimientos ancestrales en medicina de la comunidad de Membrillo, específicamente en la Unidad Educativa Intercultural Bilingüe "Abc", en colaboración con estudiantes de octavo, noveno y décimo año de educación básica general. Este estudio adopta un enfoque descriptivo y analítico, llevado a cabo en la institución con la colaboración del yachak local, la partera y otros miembros sabios de la comunidad. Se documentan las prácticas relacionadas con el uso de plantas medicinales en el proceso de curación. Para recopilar la información, se utilizaron entrevistas y diarios de campo, cuyos resultados se compartieron posteriormente con los estudiantes para su revisión y análisis en el contexto educativo. Los hallazgos revelaron la integración del tratamiento médico tradicional con el enfoque pedagógico en el aula, así como la viabilidad de utilizar las plantas medicinales como herramienta de enseñanza en la lengua kichwa, a través de una guía estructurada.
