Las Culturas del Ecuador

Abstract

The present didactic unit was structured to work with eighth-year students of Basic General Education with the objective of promoting appreciation for the Cultures of Ecuador from the study of their origin, location and most outstanding features, promoting the understanding of the value that the Diversity implies for our country in the cultural, economic and tourist aspect, raising awareness of attitudes of respect and tolerance that must be demonstrated in daily life to reduce actions of discrimination and violence. Various activities were used such as questionnaires, brainstorming, images, video and sources analysis, research, mapping and albums, as well as performance exhibitions; resources such as posters, music, crafts, clothing and typical dishes allowing students to be the builders of their own knowledge. It is important to emphasize the subject we teach comes closer to the student´s reality. To do it in an interesting and fun way and to stimulate their willingness to learn.
